Abiding in the Kingdom

God’s kingdom is now accessible to everyone through the person of Jesus. He defeated Satan’s ability to keep us trapped in selfishness, fear, pride and hatred. He took the enemy down and exposed his rule as false. If we put our trust in him we receive forgiveness, the power and presence of the Holy Spirit and access to God’s reign in and through our lives. If we’re willing to let our little realm die we can come alive to God’s realm.  Small story or big story, the choice is always ours.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:1-5

Some questions for you:

1. What will it take to let go of your realm?
2. What do you need to let go of or hold on to?
3. What needs to shift or change?
4. What cave do you fear to enter?
5. What will the change look like and feel like?
6. What do you need to do first?

This week may you identify your little kingdoms and make a decision about where they are taking you.  Are they moving you more towards abundant life or are they holding you hostage?  Abide and bear fruit.
